H E R E will the congress be held?
We will meet in the VVF facility, called "La
Bergerie" at La Colle Sur Loup, Côte d'Azur, France. The facility
offers room, full board and congress facilities and is located in the country
about 20 minutes from the Nice-Côte
d'Azur Airport (NCE). "La
Bergerie" is on top of a hill in the midst of a vast pine forest, an authentic
Provence village with little houses roofed with ochre-coloured tiles, and arranged
around a main square planted with century-old olive trees. It's a vacation
resort consisting of bungalows -- we've provided a pdf file of the layout
of the resort. It offers good standard conference facilities. It faces Saint-Paul
de Vence, a fortified village famous for its art galleries and museums. It
is also close to Nice,
Cannes
and Grasse.
W H O will attend this congress?
We expect over 400 attendees representing intercultural research and studies,
consultants and trainers, as well as corporate HR people, governmental and NGO
professionals from all around the world. W
H A T will be the overall theme and topics for the Congress?
The theme "My culture, Your Culture, Our Opportunity" has been chosen
to focus on the role of intercultural studies, practices and arts in addressing
the pressing cultural issues of our time: politics, religion, terror, violence
and genocide, social shifts, reducing the effects of past colonialism, and certainly
developing a larger role in these matters for "the New Europe."
| SIETAR
congresses are not merely offering front lectures or presentations. Close interaction
and networking between the congress participants has always been central to SIETAR
congresses. For example, small working groups consisting of fellow interculturalists
allow participants to exchange thoughts and best practices. |
|
| | Experiential
activities are an important part of our congresses. Here a group of SIETARians
at our Budapest Congress engage in improvisational theatre to address
the future of intercultural work. |
W H O is organizing this congress? SIETAR Europa in collaboration
with SIETAR France has the responsibility of organizing the 2005 congress. This
means that the congress is constructed by interculturalists for interculturalists
and for people that have to deal with the many challenges of communicating, and
managing across cultures. A full congress committee representative of the European
SIETARS and a large number of volunteer members, sponsors and exhibitors are developing
a program and inviting you to participate in learning, networking and strategizing
our future.
Congress
F E E S and B O A R D This
year's fees for participating in the congress are the best ever! Why is that,
I hear you say? "La Bergerie" will provide both the congress facilities
and accommodation and lunch and breakfast. That way, we could secure special prices
that are eventually cheaper than paying congress fees and accommodation separately.
Please keep this in mind when the fees on the Registration
Form seem totally unreasonable for you at a first glance. We've also provided
a detailed explanation of what the
fees encompass. Some
more questions are being answered in the Congress FAQs Webmaster:
