ATELIER DU GOÛT - A WORKSHOP ON TASTE

A Sunday morning adventure tour

Our September 25 tour starts with a bus ride into the back country of the Cote d'Azur to the 12th century village of Auribeau-sur-Siagne.

Upon our arrival we will be met by our host Jean-Jacques Mayer the creator of La Vignette Haute who will welcome us to his splendidly decorated small luxury hotel.

The chef de cuisine of La Vignette will be our mentor as we spend an hour and a half exploring the marriage of smell and taste that bring us the many flavors of French Provencale cuisine. An olive oil specialist will be on hand to initiate us into the secrets of this healthy Mediterranean ingredient. It is a chance to imrprove both our sense taste and our culinary skills.

Following this, officials of Auribeau will welcome us as we go on foot for a tour of this well preserved medieval hilltop town its boutiques and studios.

With appetites sharpened by our excursion, we will return to La Vignette Haute to partake of a dinner menu degustation where we can exercise our newly honed sense of taste.

After lunch karaoke? Not quite, but you will be able to sing favorite French chansons to the tune of a classical orgue de Barbarie, then be free to explore the wonders of La Vignette Haute, its antiques and classic beauty and even visit the private "Love and Humor" Museum.

Our bus will then depart returning us to La Colle sur Loup or to the Nice Airport for same-day departures to our home or next destination.

Details of this excursion and information about joining the tour will be available shortly on this site.
