Jicheva is an intercultural communication
and management specialist with a background
in business, languages and learning. She
is partner in Coghill
and Beery International, based in London.
Maria was born in Bulgaria and received
her MA and BA degrees from the University
of Sofia, Bulgaria, and her MBA from The
American International University in London.
Maria has extensive experience in living
and working in various cultures through
diplomatic postings and business experience.
She has in-depth research of the cultures
in Central and Western Europe and continues
teaching university courses in intercultural
management.
Maria earned her
Diploma in Inter-Cultural Management at
the University of Cambridge. She has presented
at international congresses (recently in
Norway, Germany, France and China) and published
articles on intercultural communication
and cross-cultural adaptation. She is one
of the creators of ArgonautOnline,
an intercultural online learning system.
Maria is the representative
of SIETAR
UK on the board of SIETAR Europa. Maria
believes that SIETAR needs to become a diverse
organization, representing the diversity
in society, including people from different
social backgrounds, ethnicity and religion,
expanding more and more into countries of
Eastern and Central Europe. Members of SIETAR
should have the opportunity to apply their
knowledge and skills in order to make a
difference in society. SIETAR as an organization
can prepare its members for work on projects
where their abilities are needed.
Maria loves jogging
(nothing too ambitious), the theatre and
most of all spending time with her husband,
two daughters and a cat, Andy.
