Dear SIETARians,
The time of our 2005 Congress is getting closer and
we are delighted to announce that the congress website
is now ready to deliver all the necessary information
on how you can participate by presenting papers, workshops
and other events. Click

Our thanks to Jonathan Levy for his work in putting
this call for papers together, and to Markus Haag, Maya
Ayad and Sabine Amend for the both beautiful and simple
look and text of our congress website.
We are all looking forward to learning from each other
and enjoying each other’s creativity in September.
We will alert you regularly about Congress progress
and developments via these flash news bulletins.
There are still lots of opportunities to become involved
in the preparation and conduct of the congress. We hope

| BRUSSELS IN A DAY - INTRODUCTION TO EU PUBLIC AFFAIRS |
| March 16, May 19, September 15, November 17
This one-day seminar is intended for professional associations,
NGOs, companies, local and regional authority officials,
students, and civil society wanting to get acquainted
with the EU Institutions and their working system.
The seminars cover:
- practical presentation of the European Institutions
(the "Community method" in practice, the
EU decision-making process);
- the toolbox of a lobbyist: how to identify the key
players, the best sources of information, how to manage
a legislative monitoring, how to write a position
paper;
- visit to the EU Parliament: the co-decision procedure,
the powers of Parliament, and how to work with it;

| IRC LICENSING COURSES |

IRC Licensing Courses are scheduled again on 28-29
April and 23-24 June, 2005, in Laren (near Amsterdam).
The IRC License allows you to administer the Intercultural
Readiness Check (IRC), an online 60-item questionnaire
assessing four key intercultural competences: Intercultural
Sensitivity, Intercultural Communication, Building Commitment,
Managing Uncertainty.
The IRC greatly supports practitioners in adding value
