“You've never seen me like this at SIETAR congresses"

Here is how SIETAR Election Committee Chairman Patrick Boylan kept busy over Christmas holidays. Together with the Peace Movement in Rome, Italy, he staged a Living Nativity Scene.

Actually, it wasn't an enactment of the Nativity in Bethlehem, but of a real event that took place over Christmas in Falluja, Iraq. A woman gave birth in the streets of Falluja because her home and neighborhood had been destroyed.

Three wise Imams arrive bringing the Iraqi family, as gifts, Justice, the Right to Resist, and Media that tell the truth (that's Patrick under the gaudy pink robe, holding the gift box labeled "Verità"). (www.wti-italia.org)

The usual baby pictures or pictures of unusual situations are welcome. Who dares next?

    Newsletter, March 2005

    DEAR FELLOW SIETAR MEMBERS

Spring is at the door of Europe. Time to put our winter coats in the closet and enjoy the sun. At this optimistic time the board of SE would like to wish you every success in the coming months, inspiration in both private and work life and much happiness.

We feel inspired and hopeful for SIETAR Europa, too. We are proud of our organization and delighted to watch it growing stronger as days go on. We are committed to serving you and enhancing the intercultural profession.

Please continue to tell us what you need from us. Give us feedback on the things we do (and don't do, but should be doing). We value your opinion by e-mail, phone and in the surveys you take the time to complete.

The planning of Congress 2005 is well underway and there are so many good ideas we are going to make happen! So many of you are already involved from our direct membership and all the local SIETARs-thank you for your contribution. We are particularly thankful to SIETAR France members who have
become our working co-sponsors for the Congress.

We will continue to need help of all kinds right up to the Congress, so please let us know if you have some volunteer time to offer. Most of all we need early registrations for the congress, so we can make our advance payments to the venue on time. Please go to the website and register early.
You will save some money and at the same time show your support for SE. We are already dreaming of joining old and new friends and colleagues, over a drink ... in the sunset, under the olive trees. How could any of us miss out
    on that?!

We look forward to meeting you all in La Colle sur Loup in September

    Maria Jicheva
    President
On behalf of the Board of SIETAR Europa
