| Assistant Professor COMPARATIVE AND INTERNATIONAL
DEVELOPMENT EDUCATION (CIDE), University of Minnesota,
Twin Cities
Department of Educational Policy and Administration
is looking for an assistant professor for a full-time
tenure-track position in a highly regarded college of
a major urban research university beginning Fall Semester
2005.
The department is home to four graduate-level program
areas: Higher Education, Comparative and International
Development Education, Educational Administration, and
Evaluation Studies.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited
to: Teaching and advisement: Strengthen the existing
preparation of graduate students in the department.
Teach and advise students in the department's graduate
degree programs, particularly in the area of Comparative
and International Development Education.
Research: Develop and maintain a strong record of basic
and applied scholarship in the area of comparative and
international development education with focus in such
areas as comparative education, international program
administration, international development education,
and intercultural education. Maintain a commitment to
securing external funds to support the individual’s
active program of scholarly inquiry.
Service: Participate in college, university, and civic
engagement activities. Participate in the activities
of relevant professional organizations.Desired Background
and Experience:
Minimum Qualifications: - An earned doctorate in education
or a related field, such as one of the social sciences.

• Demonstrated, or demonstrated potential for,
success in teaching and contributing to academic program
development at the graduate level.
• Demonstrated, or demonstrated potential for,
research productivity in the form of peer-reviewed publications
and conference presentations.
• Demonstrated, or demonstrated potential for,
success in procuring external funding. Preferred Qualifications:
- Scholarly expertise, research agenda, and research
productivity in the area of comparative and international
development education
• Demonstrated, or demonstrated potential for,
teaching and research in comparative and international
development education and publication in high quality
juried journals in the field.
• Successful experience in collaborative, multi-disciplinary
environments. Appointment Details: The individual hired
will be appointed to a full-time, 9-month position beginning
Fall Semester 2005 (August 29, 2005, as a tenure-track
Assistant Professor.
Summer and May intersession employment is a possibility
but is not guaranteed. Salary is competitive and commensurate
with experience.
